Fire Island Escape With 2(X)IST Swimwear

If you happen to be in New York during the summer, the best place to be on a sunny day is Fire Island. The 32-mile barrier island stretching south of Long Island consists of 17 communities, with two of them, Cherry Grove and The Pines, known as the best “gay getaways.”

Every summer weekend groups of the hottest and wealthiest gay New Yorkers (and their friends) pack their tiniest and most stylish swimsuits to escape to this island of marvelous houses and pristine sand dunes to relax, tan, drink and have fun…

Thanks to Tom Bianchi’s polaroid’s book, hairy torsos, tan lines, short shorts and high waisted speedos are the things that come to my mind when I think of Fire Island. The island is also well known for being the preferred destination for designers, male models, photographers, etc.… I’ve seen Nick Wooster, Rick Day and Chad White among others enjoying a weekend out there.

So its no surprise that when it comes to fashion in the island, guys really step up their game, after all everyone’s watching – Trust me, we are!!! Luckily, during my last visit to the “lustful island” I geared up with some 2(X)IST shorts. 2(X)IST swimwear takes everything they perfected in underwear like premium fabrics and supportive, contoured fits into every comfortable swim short, trunks or brief.

I packed my 2(X)IST Jogger Colorblock Swim Trunk and the 2(X)IST Gold Camper Cargo Swim Short because let’s face it; I’m a sucker for anything retro. Furthermore they fit perfectly; the mid-length is ideal for the conservative man as well as for the bold one – made out of poly micro twill and polyester respectively, the fabric feels great, and they look fucking luxurious! One of the things I like the most about them is the drawcord with metal barrel tips, so edgy. They also come with functional, deep side-entry pockets, suitable to keep your phone, or anything else you might need to use in the “sexually charged” getaway– condoms anyone?

Between the Jogger Colorblock Swim Trunk and the Gold Camper Cargo Swim Short, which do you like the best?
