While you might think of sake as the obvious pairing for sushi, in actuality, sake isn’t traditionally served with sushi because both are made from rice. So when it comes to finding the perfect sushi companion, nothing beats a good, crisp lager beer like Sapporo.

Whether I’m looking for a casual setting in NYC or something more upscale in Dallas, I’m always down to get some sushi. The Philadelphia roll is hands down my go-to because, to be honest, anything with smoked salmon and cream cheese gives me life.
Since simple is sometimes best, you can’t go wrong with the Spicy Tuna roll. Or when you’re not watching your calorie count, the Shrimp Tempura roll is a great option. Give me any of these sushi rolls and a Sapporo beer, and I’m ready to go!
