The Manchic Diaries: Everyday Is A New Beginning.

Dear New Year,

I would imagine you get really excited about making a grand entrance every December the 31st; I would also imagine you get really upset when we forget about you almost immediately, but jeez! You didn’t have to take it out on me!

Sticky note: I know it’s been a while since NYE, however, I feel the need to share this experience with you. #dealwithit

Last New Year’s Eve I was sick. For that reason, this year, I was over-excited about the festivities (plus my brother and his girlfriend were in town). Long story short, over the night I made a series of “bad” decisions that led into an accident, thankfully nothing serious but still scary… bear with me and don’t panic! – It would take more than what happened to kill this b*tch.

Sticky note: I apologize for the lack of posts in the last few days… I’ve been taking care of myself while dealing with the consequences of my little accident.

I don’t really want to get into details about that night, instead, I would like to take this opportunity and reflect about 2014. We all make mistakes (some of them more stupid than others) and just like Al Franken said:

Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it’s a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.

I could sit here all day and beat myself up for what happened – but what’s the point? Instead, I’m going to try to be my best everyday this new year… After all, everyday is a new beginning.

Sincerely,

Jorge Gallegos
