What Manchic Wore: Live For Now

I will be lying if I told you that I drink Pepsi, I don’t drink soda AT ALL, unless it’s accompanied by liquor, OK? However, I’ve always been a fan of Pepsi’s logo and merchandise, especially the vintage ones – The Americana feeling of it fills me with joy… And given that it’s 4th of July and I’m feeling very patriotic, I wanted to tell you about their Live For Now Capsule Collection.

Motivated by their 2014 global football campaign, the Pepsi ‘Live for Now’ Capsule Collection brings the best of art and football to life showcasing the most characteristic and spectacular artwork from six talented artists – UK’s professional doodle bomber, Hattie Stewart; Argentinian urban artist, Jaz; Brazilian illustrator and street artist Ricardo AKN; Spanish-based visual artist Zosen;Merijn Hos, visual artist from the Netherlands and Argentinian street artist Ever.

As a graphic designer myself and “fashion victim”, I always get excited about collaborations of this kind.  As soon as I heard of it, I was on board! The collection features streetwear, accessories and electronics in partnership with innovative designers such as Original Penguin by Munsingwear®, B&O PLAY, Gents, Goodlife, Del Toro and SHUT.

I had the opportunity to attend the exclusive first-look at Bloomingdale’s – the US retailer where you can buy the full collection – where I met the artists and some of the brand’s representatives… The collection really embraces the strong relationship between art and fashion; it’s vibrant, stylish and wearable. (See my favorite pieces on my Pinterest page).

I decided to pair my Original Penguin shirt with some really short shorts in blue – to keep with the festivities theme – and a subtle pop of color with my Camper shoes. Cute right? Now if you’ll excuse me I need to start getting ready for the Macy’s fireworks. Happy 4th of July!!!
