If you follow me on Instagram and Snapchat, you saw how much fun I had during my first trip to Miami. And I could I not? Sun, beach, cocktails, boys and I, what else could I’ve to ask for? Still, the biggest highlight of my expedition was staying at Hotel Gaythering. Not only because my friend Alexander Guerra and his boyfriend are the owners but also because I genuinely enjoyed staying there and here’s why:
It’s Close Enough To The Scene, But Far Away From The Noise.
Gaythering is conveniently located nearby Lincoln Road, Miami Beach’s premier shopping destination. Within blocks from your hotel room, you will find endless options for dining and shopping. The famous Ocean Drive and 12th Street beach, as well as the most popular gay bars and clubs, are just a quick 30-minute walk from it.
Sensuous Rooms
Industrial elements, vintage touches, and eclectic décor give the bedrooms an enticing vibe. For the extrovert traveler, they’re crate style shared rooms available. The semi-private chambers are affordable and allow socializing with other guests in a private setting. And a little bunny told me that very soon one of the suites would be fully equipped with a sling and any other bondage furniture. – There’s nothing wrong with some hot and rough sex, right?
The Neighborhood Bar
Since its inception, Gaythering has become the neighborhood hangout. The bar opens daily with “Hoppy Hour” from 5 pm to 9 pm. They have a unique and curated drink menu. Craft cocktails like the Hunnie Bunnie are simple yet on point. If beer is your thing, they have a mix of local Craft Beer for you to choose from. Every night poses a different affair, from trivia to craft night, even a Sunday BBQ, which was my favorite!
Treat Yourself To The Men’s-Only Spa
After a long night out or a day at the beach, you deserve to relax and unwind at the Men’s-Only Spa. Lockers and towels are available as you walk in. A Jacuzzi in a room with dim lighting follows, just across from it, you’ll find the dry cedar sauna and a couple of showers. The stylish steam room is located around the corner. If you’re into being naked with other guys, Sunday afternoons is the ideal time to come (did you see what I did there). Even though this isn’t a bathhouse, same rules apply. And if you’re going to play, play safe. Condoms are accessible around the facility. (Wearing Parke & Ronen)
A Home For The LGBT Community in Miami Beach
Apart from being a fantastic place for travelers to stay, Hotel Gaythering is a focal point of the LGBT community in Miami. They support several local organizations, host many community events and overall have created a welcoming space where the community can gather. So much they’re being honored at The Bowtie Bash next week for their outstanding contributions to better Miami’s LGBT community.
Whether you’re thinking about staying or visiting South Beach, you should definitely stop by Gaythering. The hotel atmosphere is playful, and the staff is the greatest.
